Static Shock and Ricoh Products
Ricoh’s Quality Assurance Center has investigated reports that some users of Ricoh MFPs have experienced an electric shock during use. It has been found that the cause is “Electrical Static Shock” which is harmless to humans. We have shared a number of tips on how users can reduce the chance of receiving static shocks.

REACH FAQs
Q1: Where can I find general information about REACH?
REACH is the EU regulatory framework for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. You can find more information on REACH on our global website.

Q2: How does Ricoh obtain compliance information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) content?
We are contacting our suppliers to compile the basic information required to be transmitted. For such purposes, we participate in industry groups which bring together many companies throughout the supply chain (in both Japan and elsewhere) and promote the establishment of cooperation throughout industry amongst all stakeholders. In addition, we are strengthening our own internal system for the complete management of chemical substances and information relating to them.
Q3: Can I search for SVHC information on my product?
If SVHC s exist within your product they can be found using the links:
Q4: If changes are made to the substances used by Ricoh in a product model how will the customer be notified?
The Ricoh Group will provide information on SVHCs through Ricoh Group's Management System for Chemical substances contained in Products. The information provided will be up-to-date as of the time that the request for information is made.
Q5: If an SVHC is in a product, do you plan to discontinue use of the substance or to use an alternative, (safer) substance with less environmental impact?
At this point, the REACH Regulation does not impose new limitations on the use of SVHCs, nor does it require companies to submit substitution plans. It is only after an SVHC has been placed on the list of substances subject to authorisation (Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation) that such obligations are imposed.
The Ricoh Group’s policy is to regularly review its use of environmentally sensitive substances in light of scientific developments to appropriately control the presence of these chemical substances in our products.
Q6: Can Ricoh provide me with data on the quantity of SVHCs in Ricoh product?
The REACH Regulation does not require the measurement of the quantity of SVHCs in an individual product, and accordingly the Ricoh Group does not provide this information.
