Meet some of the faces behind our success

Nicola Downing

Chief Executive Officer, Ricoh Europe

Under Nicola’s leadership, Ricoh Europe is building on its strong legacy in workplace optimisation, digital transformation and print innovation as it helps more than 170,000 customers to grow, enter new markets and retain talent. In the financial year ended March 2022, Ricoh Europe had revenue of 3,207 million euros. Nicola is a committed blogger, writing regularly on topical subjects such as hybrid working, the future of work, diversity in the workplace and employee wellbeing. Nicola holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from University College London and is a qualified solicitor. She lives in St Albans, UK, with her husband and son.

David Mills

Chairman - RICOH EUROPE

David is responsible for further strengthening Ricoh Europe’s digital services capabilities, drawing on his considerable experience to provide guidance and consultancy to Ricoh Europe’s management team. He joined the Ricoh Group in 2008, having held several senior roles within the industry, including President of European operations at IKON. He then became the Managing Director of Ricoh UK, before joining the Ricoh Europe Board as Executive Vice President, and then Chief Operating Officer. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Ricoh Europe from 2014 to 2022. David holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Hull. He lives with his wife in Oxted, Surrey in the UK. He has two sons and three granddaughters.

Tim Stuart

Chief Financial Officer - RICOH EUROPE

Tim is the Chief Financial Officer at Ricoh Europe and member of the Board. He is responsible for Finance, Tax, Treasury and Ricoh Capital, the EMEA leasing business. Tim joined Ricoh in September 2016 having previously held senior finance positions at two FTSE 100 listed companies (Informa Plc and Whitbread Plc). Prior to that, he spent 13 years in audit practice, with 10 years at KPMG. Tim qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Baker Tilly. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics from the University of Reading. Tim’s hobbies include football and golf. He lives with his wife in the Chilterns.

Caroline Bright

Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer - RICOH EUROPE

Caroline is responsible for driving Ricoh Europe’s customer first approach and ensuring that EMEA Marketing adds commercial value for the region. Caroline joined Ricoh Europe in 2019, bringing with her over 20 years’ B2B experience and a strong track record in helping businesses transform marketing into a strategic growth function. Caroline has held multiple senior commercial roles including General Management positions, and previously worked as a global CMO where she managed a large-scale global marketing transformation. She has also served as a senior management consultant advising CMOs and marketing leaders across different B2B industries on marketing strategy, transformation, organisational design and how to drive impact. Caroline holds an MBA (Distinction) from Warwick Business School and a BA (Hons) degree in Politics from the University of York.

Chris Hopton

Chief Sales Officer - RICOH EUROPE

Chris is responsible for driving the sales teams across both our Partner channel and direct teams within the EMEA region. Chris has responsibility for both the Office Printing sales and the Digital Services organic sales across EMEA. Chris joined Ricoh Europe in 2017, bringing with him over 15 years’ B2B experience and a strong track record in transforming sales teams. He has held multiple senior commercial roles within Ricoh Europe driving sales transformation and providing profitable growth. Chris worked in a 12 year career from graduate trainee to Board member at the Danwood Group before the successful sales of the business. Chris has a passion for people development and creating sales environments where everyone can succeed. Chris holds a MA (Hons) degree in Management from the University of Hull.

Alberto Mariani

Chief Digital Investment Officer - RICOH EUROPE

Alberto is responsible for the development and promotion of services and solutions that support customers with their digital transformation journeys. He leads the development of the Office Services business unit for Ricoh Europe in EMEA and oversees all business unit operations. Alberto is also tasked with managing the business unit profit and loss statements in line with business plans and budgets to achieve financials goals, growth in revenues and operating income. He joined in 2003, holding positions in Product Management, Business Development and Channel Marketing during his time at Ricoh Italy. He joined Ricoh Europe in 2012 as Director of IT Services before moving to his current position in 2018. Alberto holds a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and Communications from ISC University, Milan.

Eef de Ridder

Vice President, Graphic Communications Group - Ricoh Europe

Eef is responsible for all Ricoh production printing solutions sold in the Graphic Arts and Corporate/Enterprise market. Eef joined Ricoh in 2008 as Vice President Commercial Print Industry and was responsible for the development and operational implementation of the sales and marketing strategy of the Ricoh Commercial Printing portfolio in the Graphic Arts market in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that he ran Knighthood, his own sales and marketing consultancy company, which he established after more than 20 years with Xerox. For Xerox he held a number of national and international (senior) management positions primarily in sales and marketing. Eef is a graduate of Inholland University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and currently resides in Amsterdam.

Andrea Gombac

Chief Services Officer - Ricoh Europe

Andrea is responsible for the integrated services delivery and fulfilment across 25 countries in the EMEA Region to support Ricoh’s Digital Services portfolio. He is an innovation-driven executive with over 25 years of experience working with industry leaders in the ICT market in business development, presale, customer service and digital transformation. Andrea joined Ricoh Italy in 2014 as Director of Customer Service and, six years later, joined Ricoh Europe as Vice President of Service and Annuity before taking on the role of Chief Services Officer. He is particularly interested in reshaping the role of service organisations in the context of platform business models, servitisation of product-centric business models, through the use of data-driven operations and the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm.
